I submitted photos to the 84th Bethlehem Connecticut Fair. Both Amateurs and Professionals were allowed to enter. It's not a HUGE fair, but it isn't one of the real little ones either.

One took a 3rd Place Ribbon in the Landscape and Architecture Salon Print class.

Here's the original photo entitled simply "Driftwood" and a photo of the mounted photo with ribbon. The reflection is because I covered the photo with a plastic sleeve. Experience shows that these things can get destroyed without the sleeve. I'll take it out now, place it in a frame and hang it.

Yes! $8.00. That just about paid for the 8x12 print. Heh.

At least they let you submit it matted with a sleeve. The rules at our local fair stipulate no mats, frames or covering. All of the entries were submitted on foam or fiber mount board with no protection. It was interesting to note that several of the pro's got around the no-mat rule by printing the picture with a virtual mat. The "mat" was added in PP.

Our fair was a little big for me, I think. There were some 1800 entries. With that many pictures even extremely good images were left without appropriate recognition. As for the four that I entered...
