Au Natural, Almost.
Lens: Pentax SMC -DA L 55-300mm ED Camera: Pentax k-50 Photo Location: Sherwood Forest. ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F10
Posted By: Tonytee, 05-13-2018, 10:59 PM

Focal Length @ 300mm, Manual Exposure Mode, Exposure Bias @ 5EV, No flash and used Multi-Segment Metering.

I felt that this floral arrangement was quite interesting, in that the lighting seemed to perfectly balance itself and the petals in different sections. The colors seemed so vibrant and alive that I decided to leave well enough alone and it turned out quite well, I believe. That is a real testament to the abilities of the Pentax k-50 and that wonderful Pentax 55~300mm lens. All credit goes to Pentax on this one and deservedly so. I had to do some downsizing.

Thanks so much for viewing.

You may apply all other remarks I've made to the others shots of yours today, but the one I must repeat - better, what means, shallower DOF would blurred background more. Thus creating environment for the main subject to rule all the scene. Otherwise eyes jump from left to right and back, alas!

My 4/5 "stars"

Cheers

P.S. Oh God! I forgot about background proximity! Good Lord! DOF should be thick enough to embrace the main subject, but when other objects in back are closer, only paper thick DOF would fuzzy them enough and the prime subject would lose "space" sharpness aka 3-D effect. So, it's not me to decide here, it needs a lot of skill and the rig, which would enable to practice the interdependent issues.
