Passed this little church many a time and didn't know until recently who was buried in it...Robert Watson-Watt developed a system for Radio Detection and Ranging...which he called RADAR.

Neither did I until I saw the BBC Docu-drama with Eddie Izzard playing him...after a bit of googling found out that he's buried in Pitlochry...he initially was developing the system for weather forecasting in peacetime but later adapted it for the war effort.

A very nice man lying in a nice place unlike most of us who will end up in a municipal cemetery where no though to a sympathetic layout has been given other than if we do this can we get a few more in.

Thanks for commenting PenPusher...the population for this small town stands under 3,000 souls which might contribute to the more personal treatment of the departed.

An attractive building in a lovely setting - apart from who did what.
