Portrait Professional Contest (Flower on the Boardwalk)
Lens: FA 85 Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Treasure Coast ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/320s Aperture: F2.2

For the month of April Portrait Professional had a contest. There was no limit to how many photos you could enter so I submitted about ten shots. Both I and Emily were pleased that this shot was the winner.

my 2c:
great shot. exposure processing, posing, colors, subject and background all look great.
my only input is that there is too much out of focus fence on the right side (and bottom of the photo) and this distracts from the subject a little IMHO. I would crop some of it.

Well, the judges obviously didn't think there was too much fence if they thought this picture was better than all the others that got sent in In fact the front bokeh there is smooth and lovely, IMHO. I also think it gives a bit of a concept of distance, where the young lady is seen as a little shy towards the "eyes" (lens?) that are looking at her. To me it just works as a whole, but of course everyone has a different opinion on things and there is not really a wrong or right in these matters

Awesome shot I have certain images in my mind that I look out for, on the odd chance I'll have a chance to take a similar image one day. This wasn't one of them but it is now.

Appreciate it. I like the leading lines and sense of scale/distance personally but I suppose I can see how some might think there's a bit too much. Plus I'm a sucker for the textures in the wood grain.
