High Moor - Season 2018 - Lower Saxony - Germany
Posted By: traveler57, 06-02-2018, 01:53 AM

The life in the bog is in full swing and since the weather this year, here with us in the north really plays along, I was very early this year for the first time in this bog on the way.
Everything still quite difficult, because the flight distances of the animals were very high.
To catch dragonflies with a Marcro lens at 105mm, -. almost impossible.
Therefore, the DA * 200 was used several times.

Let's start with something small:

If you do not find much else .....

((Normally, I do not like these animals at all, as I may not be their blood donor, but as a motive, that works ......))

That's how it is with the small animals, - because you think, you are right with the determination and then something completely different comes out .....

1. (A midge) --- in the moor. ---- It's a :
Empididae ,

Some more insects from this year....

17.Agriphila straminella

Never consciously, because only on the camera monitor you could discover his bluish eyes ......

18. the lesser marsh grasshopper...

19. Nomada alboguttata ?

like the cuckoo ....

But it confirms my thesis, the more one goes into the world of macro level and insects,
the more surprised and surprised what Evulotion has to offer.

In this case, it is a bee that smuggles your eggs into foreign nests (sand bees).
There, their larvae feed on the eggs or larvae of the host animals and their food stocks.

During the year, an Olympus EM 1 MII supplemented my equipment.
The change to a mft system is especially intended for travel photography.

It soon turned out, however, that in combination with the new body and the existing glass, very good results in the pseudo-macro range could be achieved.
Therefore, both, the Pentax and the Olympus were and will be used in the future.

Pictures of both systems can be found here:
