High Moor - Season 2018 - Lower Saxony - Germany
Lens: DA* 200mm 2.8 Camera: Pentax K3 Photo Location: High Moor - Germany ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/350s Aperture: F6.3

The life in the bog is in full swing and since the weather this year, here with us in the north really plays along, I was very early this year for the first time in this bog on the way.
Everything still quite difficult, because the flight distances of the animals were very high.
To catch dragonflies with a Marcro lens at 105mm, -. almost impossible.
Therefore, the DA * 200 was used several times.

Let's start with something small:

If you do not find much else .....

((Normally, I do not like these animals at all, as I may not be their blood donor, but as a motive, that works ......))

That's how it is with the small animals, - because you think, you are right with the determination and then something completely different comes out .....

1. (A midge) --- in the moor. ---- It's a :
Empididae ,

With a little luck and a lot of patience, the first dragonflies got caught.

Characteristic of this morning was the high escape distance of the few dragonflies.
It was very difficult to get close enough to the animals, as they always flew up very fast.

The midge in the moor shot is fabulous. The two dragonfly shots are also beautifully captured.

Life is awakening in the moor

Four-spotted chaser

- escaped

The finished creatures flew around; all the more the empty shells were worth seeing, especially if one deals with the different stages of development of the dragonflies ....

9. Four spotted Chaser

Still very shy, but abundant
Flight recordings tried, but not really presentable .......
There is still time and the weather continues to play - but unfortunately it is always very windy, even in the evening ....

Very nice! It's a lot of fun getting into the field and photographing what's there.

Mostly I also take pictures of the pictures in Moor,- Freehand.
But at some point came the time to try it more seriously with the tripod.
Shortly before 6.00am I was in the moor, which was almost too late and built up.
Very quickly I realized how hard it is, to take photos in such a way and on what you have to pay much closer attention.
A few shots of the early morning.
