Shake reduction
Lens: pentax 150 -450 mm Camera: k3 ii Photo Location: eastern Canada ISO: 160 Shutter Speed: 1/800s Aperture: F5.6

I posted a while back asking the question whether to use Shake Reduction or not when hand holding the Pentax 150 - 450mm lens , finally got to test this today with a very Cooperative Eagle , both images are out of camera , and I've done a heavy crop to both , only difference is one has an ISO of 125 the other 160 I used TAv setting . shot at the long end of the lens 450mm

So which one is more crisp Shake reduction or not ?

First image Shake reduction ON

Second Image Shake Reduction Off

also note I did have the camera and lens resting on a steel bridge beam during both shots

Both 800th of a sec at f5.6? Can't see much difference and maybe with a steady camera at 800th of a sec, you wouldn't notice too much difference. Next time, try using the shake reduction to let you have access to f8. See if it sharpens the image giving more DOF.

2nd image is a bit sharper. Look at the eye.

I found with my 120-400 that TAv and f/9 is sharpest, f/8 is good and a lot better than 6.3 but 9 is the sweet spot. Even 7.1 may sharpen it up a bit.

He appears to have shifted so his eye is more square to the camera and the sun in the second shot though. That could be the difference. The eye is certainly brighter in the second image.

Saw that the eagle turned his head slightly between shots but didn't think that small of a move would make a difference. I think I was wrong. Looking at the branches there is not much difference that I can see.

Stopping down a bit will tell the tale. And steel bridges have harmonics that could create movement based on your weight or the wind. (we have lots of old bridges here!)
