I like this shot for a number of reasons. #1. The cats glaze is very intense. Captures ones interest. #2. Looks a lot like our cat SamSam. #3. The shot was taken this year. Hallelujah!

Large neutered male? According to my Vet, it seems that male cats that are naturally big are prone to diabetes. We had a 20 pound boy who developed diabetes also. (No, he was not fat either.) He would come to the fridge for his insulin shots twice a day when he was called. Often he got sushi grade fish from the restaurant the wife worked at then also but even without a treat he knew it helped him.

He is a handsome lad too, He looks a lot like our Ahn Ju Gam did. (Anglicized Korean for Appetizer Fixings.)

Thank you very much for the replies. Keno is a 20 lb part Maine Coon about 15 years old. He took sick a couple years back and lost weight, lost his appetite, a became lethargic and disoriented. When we took him in, the vet told us he had diabetes (the second of our cats to develop that disease). The vet for our first diabetic cat told us that the insulin regimen was very expensive and rarely worked, so we tried other methods, but he eventually died. This vet highly recommended insulin, so we started Keno on it. Yes, it is expensive, but after getting him balanced, he recovered, gained back his weight, got his energy back, and is doing very well.

And he certainly is a handsome lad.

The only thing he usually has on his mind is food. But when I shot this, he was looking for shade on a hot day in the back yard.

If you look closely at the reflections, you'll see the red Pentax camera strap.

I've had many cats over my 64 years on this earth, and he's definitely one of the prettiest. Thanks.
