I noticed a Ladybug pupae attached to a leaf in my backyard last Friday. Yesterday the adult beetle emerged and I was lucky enough to get a good sequence of macro shots of the whole event. I used a homemade flash diffuser, which is still showing a hotspot on the shiny surface of the beetle, so I need to tweak it a bit, but overall I was just such a pleasure to watch this unfold over the course of about four hours. Apologies for having a few of the middle photos out of sequence, but I'm sure you can work it out
