Well to call those "towns" is a bit of a stretch actually... it's ten little villages, built around a watch tower that in time morphed into the church's bell tower.
They usually sit atop a small hill or on a crest, and go by the collective name of "Svizzera pesciatina" (Pescia's Switzerland), for their supposed similarity to the Swiss landscape.

Best part of it all, there was hardly a soul when I went visiting them. Must go back with the 10-20/3.5 though!
