Some old pics are worth to process....
Posted By: kengoh, 06-10-2018, 02:42 AM

I shoot alot few years ago but lately have family issue that I can't go overseas to shoot and even shooting locally has greatly cut down.
With lesser new pics, I begin to look at the older pics and some of them I've neglected are worth to process,
Didn't process those pics is either some distracting subject or not so ideal lighting etc,, with the newer version of image editing software and improved processing skill and workflow (over the yrs) those pics can be processed and perhaps able to put to sales.

Sharing some of the older pics which I've processed:

#1 Shot with K3 + Sigma 500 F4.5, the original pic the sunlight was too harsh from the bird's head to the 1st half of the body, now this was fixed.

#2 Shot with K5-IIs + Sigma 10-20, the original pic was the bridge was too bright compared to the buildings, now with photoshop's layer mask, the exposure is balanced.
Also thanks to K5-IIs' extended bracketing, a very good feature missing since K3 and after, with this I'm able to select the +ev of the building to blend with the -ev of the bridge.

#3 Water drop shot with K5 + Tamron 17-50 with improved sharpening and noise removal technique.

#4 K5-IIs + Sigma 10-20, processed with newer version of hdr software

#5 K5 + Sigma 10-20 + lousy quality ND filter, now fixed the color cast

#6 K5 + Sigma 10-20, processed with new workflow

#7 Fireworks shot with K3 + Sigma 10-20, pcoessed with better blending method

Those are fantastic shots, Ken, and beautifully processed!

I'm sorry to hear your family issue is limiting your shooting, and hope things improve in time

Thanks BigMackCam, appreciate.
Both are parents are permanently disabled, one bed-ridden and one wheelchair bound, hence not able to go overseas.

Really good photos, it was worth going through the older ones to find these.
Cheers!

Very nice photos.
About a month ago I went through my hard drive and found a picture of the 2013 UCI Road World Championships (Taylor Finney escorting a bruised Tejay Van Garderen after his fall) that could have benefited from better NR and processing, but I guess either I already reached the limits of that capture, or I'm not quite skilled enough!
Best wishes to you and your parents as well!
