Perfect Crescent

Thought the light was to improve dramatically... but hope was short lived so still at 8000 iso.

What appears at first glance, to be a one bird fast flight sequence... was actually four birds in one shot, flying in different directions.

A potential air traffic control nightmare in the making and I'm also still undecided on the best presentation of this image... landscape or portrait.

1/6400 is a very fast shutter speed and could have been reduced to reduce the iso number. Seems a little oversharpened also due to heavy white outlining of the birds.

This may be one of those rare pictures that is a square by nature. At least you took it with the K-1, which gives you lots of pixels in each dimension.

This was shot in TAv mode, so that kind of shutter is speed is pretty essential to freeze that action, at speed these guys fly at. Aperture was set at a modest F9.0 to try and get a little more leeway in the apparent focus zone. The lighting conditions as you can see on a typical Scottish Summers day were abysmal, hence the K1 had no choice but to push the iso.

Quite possibly... but I had to try and salvage something from the shoot, thanks for your comments.

Like this... I'll admit, I'm not sure about it.
