For Our Australian Friends - UTE's In America
Lens: Sigma 28mm f2.8 Mini Wide Camera: K5IIs Photo Location: Arlington, Washington
Posted By: Racer X 69, 06-10-2018, 06:19 AM

At the annual car show in Arlington yesterday I saw a lot of nice cars and trucks. There were also a couple of UTE type vehicles. A 1951 Chevrolet UTE, and a 2010 Holden (Chevrolet) Commodore. I spotted them when still more than a block away, seeing the 51 first and thinking it was some custom sled.

Both have been converted to left hand drive.

When I realized these were both UTE's, the first thing I thought about was all the folks from Australia and New Zealand that I know from the forum.

So here you go guys!

The 51.

Twin carbs, Offy setup, and a Wolf Whistle.

Time to eat.

The 2010 Commodore.

Power plus.

Any of you ever get up my way message me and I'll buy you a beer.

Did someone say beer? Fun series. That 51 is amazing. I'm not a car guy but that's got to be the coolest grill I've ever seen.

Back in the day the bumper and grill was more like a chrome battering ram.

Nice set - that green one is really nice, I find it very difficult to get worked up about modern car design, OK so the old lads are not as safe and eco friendly but they had better lines and were something worth looking at.

Great series! I think of myself as a car guy, but I've got to admit that I didn't know Holden ever made such vehicles. Very cool, especially the '51.
