Dance recital in very dark auditorium
Lens: 50-135 Camera: K-3ii Photo Location: Lancaster PA ISO: 12800 Shutter Speed: 1/4000s Aperture: F3.2

Not sure why I had camera in AP Priority...but it was very dark in the hall so pushed my ISO up to 12,800. Did add some noise reduction in Light room. But for all the bigger I would print this to hang on my daughter's wall, it won't be noticeable.

Well done, it's challenging to capture good photos in the dark. You could probably have dropped the SS down a bit (from 1/4000s) to capture some more light and thereby drop the ISO a bit.

Very cute.

My dad used to say 1/100 second freezes action but of course, his camera only went to 1/100s.. 1/500s probably would have been adequate.

After a few shots, I thought about dropping down the ISO, but I've never really had the oppurtunity to shoot in such a dark place with the K-3ii so really just wanted to see how they came out. They are just for me, so I was just kind of playing around.

there was a guy shooting with a cannon who sells the files. (you buy the dvd from show, and it includes all the photos this guy takes.) I'm anxious to get it one and blow one of the photos up to check out the quality and noise.

Thanks, after 3 boys... she really rocked my world. LOL But she can gut her own fish (started at age 7) or look like a princess. so it's the best of both worlds

With {slide} film, I used to "stop" trains with 1/250 ..... but we are so much fussier with our 24+mp cameras.
