My Waterfall collections
Posted By: roentarre, 09-12-2008, 01:21 AM

I have a few waterfall shots since I started using pentax gear. Here is the collection of all waterfall shots taken by k10d or k20d.

They are not hard at all. Just a tripod, neutral density filter plus an aperture f11 or something like that
It takes more that just the technical aspect to create beautiful photographs, and you have done just that!

Thanks for taking your time to see these images.

Thank you for explaining so much in the reply. I did not realise the science behind the landscape I am viewing. Sure not when I press the lick button.

You seem to inherit this family tradition of such expertise and I guess you must be a consultant of somekind
Actually, I write database software for the US Geological Survey's water division

But I do have a couple of geology degrees and a lifelong fascination with volcanoes (having grown up in Seattle, Washington, under the shadow of several sleeping giants...).

Geology is like trying to figure out a four-dimensional jigsaw puzzle

The difference would be quite subtle between SLR and a point & shoot. The dynamic range and colour could be better with a SLR and a good glass. The difference is probably nill for the public.

4th Dimenion is always something way beyond what my cognition could comprehend. Sounds pretty hard for sure. Volcanos would be lovely to photograph as well.

I was in Kiushu late last year. There was this live volcano that actually erupted before I went there to photograph! Quite a scary thought

Most images here are stunning, beautifully capturing the flow of water.
