The 10-20 was my first lens that I connected with, I completely understand why it's become one of your favourites as the angles it's giving you creates a truly expansive look. An excellent series of images, and when in doubt with the 10-20; get closer.

Thanks all for the comments.
@Tas yeah I'm aware of the "fit everything in" UWA pitfall... I try and do it whenerever I can, unless I want to try and convey a feeling of open space - but that's quite difficult to put in practice

Great shots. I’d love to see more from this lens and your creative viewpoint.

Thank you!
I usually cross-post to the 10-20 dedicated thread, with a link to the full gallery when there is one, so you can find other pictures I took with that lens there.

Also check here (Nos. 2, 3 and 4) and here (Nos. 1, 2 and 3)

I know what you mean. I have its "little brother", the f/4-5.6. And yeah, it really is a "go closer, no even closer" lens.

You’re welcome, I’ll have to look at the 10-20 thread.

Mate, I wasn't criticising, it's one of the wonderful things about such a wide field of view. What do you leave in? What do you leave out? Lots of challenging fun I reckon.

Oh, and if you're looking to find that feeling of open space? Look up. The sky adds a lot of expanse and whenever I'm looking to create that feel I'd rather tilt up and risk converging lines than feel restricted. Actually there's probably some clinical definition for my problem so I'd understand if you chose to ignore me. toot, toot.

Hahaha I love criticism... it's the only way to progress I was just expanding on your comment

I took a lot of pictures with this lens before getting something not completeyl awful... it's been the most difficult lens for me.

About that sky thing, I remember a conversation regarding the gallery of a member here, at the beginning of this month, where another member congratulated him because in those pictures he didn't include as much sky as the one making the compliment was always tempted to do... so I guess lots of it boils down to personal preference

And each image should be taken in context of what is trying to be conveyed, or how it is being interpreted.

With a wide angle I like sky.

But it doesn't have to be the main draw card.

Or even that relevant to the capture.

Whichever way you go, I can see we both agree it's a great lens to have.

Now, more of those London images please. I love to see a place with a lens I know through the eyes of another.

...this first is a bit of a cheat... it's not sky, it's clouds!

I obliged, and the second gallery can be found here.

When I moved back to Pentax from Canon, a Sigma 10-20mm lens was the one lens I truly missed - and then I found a K-mount version also! The ebay ad said "when you cannot backup anymore", which is true, but the real value is when it allows you to move up to a more appropriate location - and you have certainly made appropriate use of it.
