She is comming for me - I think I'm done
Lens: Pentax 28-105 ED DC WR Camera: K-1 Photo Location: Red Centre OZ

I am no great lover of Bird photography, it simply does not interest me that much.

Please, no reflection on all the birders here, most are doing a great job.

A few days ago in central OZ an occasion presented itself and I ventured to have a go at bird shooting. The rare examples of bird pics I took are at the bottom of this post. I believe they are all Australian native birds except perhaps the Barn Owl (if that's what it is)

The other Owl in the set of pics is an Aust. native "Boobook" also known a cross eyed Owl. And I guess we all know the Australian native "Budgerigar", there are variations with different colours. I have no idea what the Dove lookalike bird with the blue makeup in its face is, perhaps someone here can help. I think this one also in an Australian native.

Thanks for looking.

Cheers

The first owl shot is fantastic and the staring pose in the last owl shot is just plain fun.

These photos show more than a small familiarity with photography and they show a knack for being in good position .

Good shots. The Barn Owl is an Australian native (100% coverage including Tasmania) and your dove is the Peaceful Dove. Looks like it was a bit cold that day by the way the Budgerigar is fluffed up.

Thanks.
I agree, they look hilarious and the knock kneed legs add to it.

I could just manage one shot. She came straight for me and must have missed my head by only inches. I could feel the draft. I surprised myself that I got anything half usable.

Thanks for those kind words.
I said this many times: photography is 30% luck, 30% light, 30% skill and the rest is good equipment.

Yes it was a cool day, not for me so much but for a Budgy for sure.
