New Dragonfly Visitor
Lens: DA 50mm F/2.8 Macro Camera: KP Photo Location: Liberty, Maine ISO: 500 Shutter Speed: 1/640s Aperture: F8

Had to work to get close enough and go manual focus to get the fair shots of this Dragonfly. Female with eggs under the tail it appears. The females stay away from the water most of the time because the males outnumber them and harass them to breed constantly.

It isn't so easy trying to frame a sketchy dragonfly with a 50mm. That and I am not as steady as I used to be!

Such a nice pair of images to lay eyes on . A 50mm macro would be hard for me get close enough . Great job!

This looks good to me, but if this was so hard, did you have some reason for using 50mm instead of a longer lens?

My only other true macro is my Vivitar series 1 28-105 mm and the Macro is only at 28mm so even shorter. I was looking for a different bug that was on my dumpster but it was gone before I came back with my macro lens on. The lens is also nice for other shots i posted in the bokeh area.

Those saddlebags are quite intricate and you got the right angle to show them.
