Good News
Posted By: Jimbo, 09-12-2008, 04:36 PM

Ok, first for the good news. For the past 16 days my camera was out for repairs. Its back and need to get out this weekend. Also got a present today. My Sigma 70-200 2.8 Macro is on the K10... Sweet! Will send some shots over the weekend.... I am smiling from ear to ear. It just looks good sitting there. The Auto focus is silent and smooth and focuses well in low light but she's a heavy brute..Cheers JIMBO

I got my 70-200 on Thursday. Very happy so far. Very quiet and fast focusing but heavy. I have a monopod which is perfect for this lens. I have not had the time to test it fully but so far the few images are great. I have posted a few photos to an other thread, see link.

Let us know your results using this lens.

Just shot most of the day and your right its heavy. After a hour or so, hand held, it was difficult to hold steady. Definately need a tri-pod or monopod with this brute. Focus is very quite and FAST even in low light. The 70-200, for the shots I like to take, is a good range, though wouldn't try true Macro's hand held with this one. [tripod for sure.] I have a few shots ready that I will post soon. Have a lot of PP work to do. [250 shots / trying different shots with the new lens] I think I am going to like this len and with this being six lenses this year, I am done for awhile.

Very nice little pic. Thanks for the scoop on the Sigma, though I could use something good in this range, it sounds to heavy for my-already-heavy hiking bag.

Glad your K10 is back Jimbo, I know you've been chomping at the bit.
Full steam ahead.
