Very nice! I find self-portraits very difficult to get in focus! nice!

Yep! it can be tricky at a short distance; but with a remote + tripod or another pair of hands it can be dealt with.

I think you did a marvelous job - and not just technically. The thoughtful (and thought-provoking) look you assumed looks natural, whereas the Capote pic looks contrived.

I've played with self-portraits to study other photographers before I made this one. It's always a discovery to try to see and look like someone else. Maybe it's a good idea to share more of those later.

Thanks! I agree; although I really like the contradictory mood of the portrait to Capote, I feel there's tension and calm at the same time.

I know almost nothing about taking portrait photography, but I really appreciate the results you have achieved with this! The lighting is wonderful!

Window light is like a giant softbox, a bit of PP and you can achieve wonderful results.
