Swallowtail [Papilio machaon]
Lens: Sigma 1:3.5/180mm macro lens Camera: Pentax K-1 Photo Location: Idstein (Germany) ISO: 200 Shutter Speed: 1/200s Aperture: F13.5
Posted By: forest_bear59, 06-30-2018, 06:31 AM

After 16 years I was lucky to find one of this species again near my homeplace. Regrettably the way farmers treat the countryside is very contraproductive for those beings to reach a greater population. They are - and will be - endangered.

Taken with the Pentax K-1 full frame camera and the 180mm Sigma macro AF lens from a monopod. Cropped a little bit.

Beautiful. We have the same problems with farmers and their often toxic methods here.

This is a nice photo - well composed and sharp.

What kind of flower is it sitting on? Is it a "weed"??
