Series of rainy shots
Posted By: tcom, 09-14-2008, 10:11 AM

Here is a series of photos taken yesterday, mostly in the rain. Thankfully K20D and DA*16-50 are weathersealed.

First a few steamboat shots:

And then, the rainy shots, from the Lavaux region, between Lausanne and Montreux above Lake Geneva:

Great series tcom.. very moody. I might have done a little cropping on a few but I do tend to over crop sometimes! JIMBO

The rain clouds really add to the scene in the first two. They help to focus your attention on the steam boats. The later pictures in the series really capture the mood of a rainy day. Well done.

Good series! I usually get bad images in a weather like that but you have made them so moody, that there is no need for tweaking! What's that thing in the fifth image, btw?

maybe you should just turn 'em into BW with a lot of contrast. I hope you won't mind, I took a chance with the first one and here's the result...

Really like your first shot with the brooding skies. Excellent composition and wonderful pre-storm light!

Good series Dominique, you sure are getting plenty of mileage out of Lake Geneva.

I agree with the B&W but then again I'm biased in this regard. either way lovely photos. and I must say that you have some beautiful scenery around you. I'm quite envious.

Thank you for all the comments.

I will have to try a few of these with B&W, good idea.

gawan: the thing in the 5th image is to get the raisin out of the vineyard. It is too steep to get it out otherwise.

Beautiful shots, the name on the rail trolly in image 5 is far too apt...
