bumblebee's decisive moment missed
Lens: DFA100 MACRO WR Camera: K3 Shutter Speed: 1/180s

This could have made an interesting photo if framing was better.
I'm quite annoyed by that
Just saw something weird happening in the edge of a view finder and pressed the button instinctively without even knowing what was really happening there. Suprised to find this from memory card.

Interesting indeed! I've never seen a battle between a yellow jacket and a bumblebee, I wonder what the likely outcome is.

They might have been inside same flower or something, quite hard to explain otherwise. I would guess that the outcome wasn't so good for the bumblebee.

At least your instincts recognized something was going on. Can we assume you weren't in a burst mode?

Unfortunately I wasn't in burst mode... I was using the pop-up flash with a diffuser so no burst.

The exposure was anyway terrible in that picture. It was a bright day with harsh light and shadows. Every picture needed a different exposure and I was trying out different settings when that happened.
Today it was much easier with overcast skies:

Great pictures!

The first one is one of life's what ifs. It would have been a winner if it worked out. Perhaps you can look out to see if it happens again. It might not be an uncommon occurrence. Capturing it would be a challenge, though.
