On Saturday, the local international photographers group went for a walk along Karl Heine Canal in Leipzig. We were taking photos of the water, boats, people and some street art. At some point I noticed a family pointing and gesturing towards something on the ground. I decided to come closer, and there was a hornet fighting a beetle. The whole battle probably lasted 2-4 minutes and the hornet gave up eventually (possibly slightly annoyed by all the onlookers). I managed to take some close ups with my D-FA100mm Macro, which are probably the most interesting shots of the trip.
I wouldn't want to have been in the beetle's shoes, but thankfully hornets don't mind humans too much, so I was safe.
