Meet Alby, the 12-week old miniature golden doodle~

We adopted her 3 weeks ago.
The day we brought her home she emptied the basket that had all the toys in it, dragged a blanket over and laid down inside claiming it as her new bed.
I brought her 'bed' outside while I was shooting some flowers in the garden with my HD DA 35mm macro. She walked over and plopped down in her 'bed' basket...
This shot in particular I really like - leading up to it, every time I laid on the ground to get a decent angle she would pounce out of the basket and try to bite the lens/camera/my hands/ my nose/ etc.

Change of plans!

I broke out my mini tripod, set it up flush to the ground. Grabbed a remote shutter and laid on the ground next to her (out of frame). She finally released her focus from the camera and lens and started to watch a bird that had landed on the tree next to us. I fired off a few frames from the shutter just before she fell asleep.

To any new puppy/dog owner!
Here's a tip most people won't give you...

The constant chase of a new dog is exhausting. It can be frustrating at times.
When you're 3 weeks in and feeling like you're losing your mind!!!
Take some time to spend on YOURSELF!
A little bit of YOU time is often all you need to get back on track. (and this applies to more than just puppy ownership and training!)

She needs to get used to her crate anyways, so I went surfing for 2 hours the other day... It was AMAZING to get back in the water; I felt so refreshed when I got home. I noticed I was calmer, more attentive, more patient; these things are noticed by the pup as well and she will respond positively!

Cheers All!

Logan

She's an adorable little critter. You guys have an odd definition of "golden" though!

haha just quoting the lady we adopted her from!

Apparently golden doodles can come out white, cream, apricot, gold, red, and sometimes gray and black.

Our pup just got her haircut and she's definitely got black, gray and brown in her coat.

But we've been calling her a doodle now, to help alleviate the questions on "But why is she black?" lol
