The Cucumber's Enigma
Lens: DFA 100mm Macro WR + 1.4xTC Camera: K-3ii Photo Location: The Garden ISO: 3200 Shutter Speed: 1/1500s Aperture: F4

Looking back at the metadata... I should have made some adjustments for a lower ISO, slower shutter and smaller aperture...

Still happy with the results though.

140mm ~ DFA100 with 1.4xTC

Every year I grow cucumbers on a vertical trellis made of hog-panels and t-posts.
They shoot off incredible tendrils that often make me wonder if the plant has a mind of it's own...

Here's one in particular that sparked my photographic curiosity!

I haven't had appropriate space recently to raise cucumbers, but that is good capture of intriguing part before it hangs onto something

I highly recommend them in the garden!

On the trellis I built they act as a natural privacy wall between our neighbors and they produce like CRAZY here!
Just beware what's next to them! I've been noticing my tomato plants getting choked out by the tendrils lately, so a lot of pruning to keep the tomatoes alive.

Next year I'll likely just do a full trellis of cukes and a separate bed with tomatoes.

Just yesterday I harvested 28 cucumbers. This morning I saw another 7 or 8 that were probably gonna be ready this evening or tomorrow. They are producing rapidly!

Time to make half sours!

I like it. Almost every year we TALK about growing cukes on a trellis but we never do.
