Look at the size of the packs these young girls are carrying. Odds are, they're tougher than you.

A girls summer camp coming back after some canoe camping. Some pure Canadiana.

People who complain about teenagers should get out and see these girls. Half of becoming tough, is being in situations where toughness is required. These 10-16 year olds always rise to the challenge, always. I've seen them take a break and cry on the portages, and then they buckle up and get on with it. My ex's 12 year old nephew covered as much ground with his group in a week as I cover in a month. When I here people complain about teens, I always think, it's your job to provide them with opportunities. Don't blame them if you bought them a computer to act as a baby sitter. They will never know what they can accomplish, until they have opportunity to find out.
