Hey Tom, glad to see you made it back in one piece!

Nice images but I think that first one is a bit crooked.

Lovely green water.

Thanks for sharing

These fish look like they were trying to escape the river! The water was pretty merky.

Could do with a bit of lens shift, methinks

The second one is cool - what lens is that taken with - a 10-20 or something, or is it a pano? (I can't see a join...)

Thanks MrA. The 2nd is indeed a pamoramic and there is a slight banding across it but not too noticeable. Lens was Sigma 17-70 for all the shots I took in Italy.

that pano is stunning. my eyes are attracted to that lovely curve in the river that flows into infinity. and how the buildings just seem to flow along with it into the curve... ah that's a lovely photo. I would love a B&W photo like that. im envious.

Nice shots Tom.
My wife has been hassling me to go to Venice, I'll show her your pics and maybe the murky water will put her off. I've heard that Venice can get pretty smelly at times, did you notice at all?

Thanks Gary.

Not sure about Venice but the drains in Pisa smelt pretty awful, a combination of little rain and the temperature being about 30 degrees meant the drains were pretty wiffy and the river was very low. It didnt put me off the place though, I could get used to living in that heat

Thanks Frank

I saw the picture with the murky water and my mind went from Pisa to Venice. I think I've seen that movie 'If it's Tuesday, it must be Belgium' too many times.

Trust me on this one Tom, I don't think you could get used to the heat. I thought I had acclimatised after a year and now, another four years later, it just seems to get hotter every year. So much so that we are thinking of moving further North. Keep it for vacations, it's more enjoyable.

Thanks Roentarre. All the buildings were either being cleaned or had been cleaned so they look very bright, the sun helped with the colours
