Power of Niagara
Posted By: reh321, 07-26-2018, 05:58 PM

I took these photos twenty years ago when my family visited Niagara Falls. Unless you actually go to the "Hurricane Deck". you cannot understand the true power of the Falls. In some sense I was taking a chance with these photos - my first SLR - a Pentax ME/SE had been ruined eight years earlier when it got slightly damp there - but it was worthwhile. Today, with my K-30 I would have been willing to photograph my seven-year-old daughter dancing on the "Hurricane Deck" because she was so excited by the power she felt, but we'll just have to imagine that part.

The young lady in the foreground of my second photo is our younger daughter, who was seven at the time. I'm glad we took her then when she could be overwhelmed by the power of the whole thing. Thank you for your memories.
