Ruddy Turnstones
Lens: 60-250 Camera: K-3ii Photo Location: Chimney bluffs state park, Lake Ontario NY Aperture: F5.6
Posted By: PancakeFlipper, 07-27-2018, 07:48 PM

I spent an hour hanging out at the park hoping to see some birds, these were the only ones besides a few sea gulls that I saw under the bluff. The birds didn’t seem to mind me as I sat on the rocks and came closer.

Third shot is by far the best. Most contrast from the bird as he should, he gets lost in the rocks. Cute birds.

Terns are interesting birds, especially when they're defending nests. The first one is a tad hard to see against the stones, the bokeh is a good background in the second photo, and sea provides a natural setting in the third one.

Wow! I saw a big group of similar birds in the USA but sadly I didn't have a DSLR at the time. Well done!

I agree. I wish I could have the best of all three in one photo.

Yes, it’s beautiful. Wish I had more time there to walk around the bluffs and to swim
