More Birding
Posted By: Adam, 02-24-2007, 07:47 PM

I'm really starting to enjoy taking bird photos, so I gave it another shot today. As good as they may be, I don't think these pics are gallery-worthy, and I'll only be posting them here.

C&C welcome

Wow the sharpness with that bokeh... The self protrait of the duck looking at you was really cute.

In the earlier post, you put on the ebay listing of this lens. Pity they refused to deal with Australian customers... It made me sad for a few days :P

That is a wonderful series of birdie shots you got there

2000 dollars for the last auction...

That's too bad, and I really don't get why the sellers do that. They could probably end up getting more for the lens if the let everyone bid...

The 80-200's are rare, but I've seen 2 listed this year. One covered in fungus sold for $800

I found mine through a private deal, so I guess I was lucky. I couldn't be more satisfied/happy for the lens, though, and at least I got it cheaper than in that auction

Great shots of a TON of ducks! I was surprised with the detail of the water drops on the white duck (?). I was laughing at two shots:
1. One of the ducks poking the other out of the way to the right. Sort of a "This is my shot - you have to scoot over here!" thing.
2. The duck facing you looking like it wanted to talk to you.

Gorgeous shots! If these aren't gallery worthy, then I guess I don't need to worry about the gallery. Looks like you got your money's worth with that lens. The detail is amazing, especially in the eyes. It's like they're looking straight at me from my monitor.

My oh my what a BIG lens you have

Nice series. I love that second to last out of the whole bunch, that duck made me chuckle and it's definitely gallery worthy.
