Black Eyed Susan With a Camouflaged Predator on it
Lens: DA 55-300 PLM Camera: KP Photo Location: Liberty, Maine ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/250s Aperture: F5.6

At 230mm, KP, PP and heavily cropped in DxO.
Anyone know what type of bug is in there? I did not get a good look until I was doing the PP on the image. Wish I had stayed at F 8 or 9.

If you don't know what it is, how do you know that it is a "predator"? What do you mean by the word?

It looks a little like a cross between an assassin bug and a mantis so I suspect it was waiting for a fly or bee to land so it could eat them. Here is zoomed in and cropped to about 250%
