While looking at what looked like something else I saw this on oak tree in front yard. I don't know if this is 13 or 17 year variety. I did

get some pics of a Live one also and will post them also. If You look real close there is most of an ant also in the picture

nice capture! sometimes i like to listen to audio recordings of cicadas, it's like nature's ambient electronica

we have some kinds of them livng here, but ours are not musical unfortunately.

This has been a banner Year for them here! In the evening the wife sit on the porch and listen to them as they go from neighbors tree to neighbors tree

It takes about 5 minutes for them to make the round. I am not sure if these are a 13 or 17 year variety as researched on Wikipedia. Thanks Kenny
