Very nice sunset with lots of interesting rock, water, and sky details. The sunburst and cloud reflections work very well in a nice composition. Well done. Thanks.

Is this the Southbank on Francois Lake? Surrounded by fire this summer. I hope your folks are alright.

Yes, yes it is. Definitely surrounded by fire. My parents are of the few that stayed behind, however, unlike 99% of other folks who defy evacuation orders, my dad happens to be one of the most knowledgeable forest fire fighters in the province (retired). When he was still working, he would manage entire regions. Most notable, the entire SE region during the 2003 fire season. So, he knows fire behaviour better than anyone and knows how to protect the property and when to leave. When the fires broke out this year, he was actually asked to help draw up a response plan but his health took a serious turn last year and his doctor has ordered him to not take on too much and keep his stress levels down, so he had to turn down the request. Instead they've been supplying food and relief to the crews working.

It's the best place to be! 45 minutes from a town of 3000, across a ferry, down a dead end road that was built by my great grandparents. Quiet is an understatement.

Thanks Ted! I saw the crack forming earlier and had hoped it didn't get too big by sunset, as I knew it would lead right to it.
