Milky Way Over Elk Island
Lens: smc Pentax DA 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 ED AL[IF] DC WR Camera: Pentax K-S2 Photo Location: Elk Island National Park ISO: 8000 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F4

Hey!
First time trying the 18-135mm at shooting the Milky Way! I think it performed reasonably well!

This Smart Object was median averaged using fourteen 30 second exposures after manually free-transforming and warping each image.
I had my O-GPS1 Unit attached but I was still getting a bit of star trails, so I slowed down the shutter speed.
Lots of post-processing to try and knock out the light pollution (Edmonton, Alberta).
Masked back in a few shooting stars...

I've provided one example of one of the fourteen un-edit raw image as well as my heavily edited image!
Would love any feedback you'd like to provide!

Thanks for looking!

Good attempt. I can't remember what lens I used for my first try but I didn't worry about star trails. I did a longish exposure and just compressed the image on the line of motion in PP. Crude (very crude) but quite effective if you don't pixel peep! (Why use a scalpel when you have a sledge hammer?)
