Architecture Concrete Arches

These arches date back to when the Detroit Toledo & Ironton used electrically-powered locomotives .... the arches supported the wires that "fed" electricity to the locomotives. Many,many years, and several railroads later {these are now Canadian National tracks} the arches remain. Poured concrete results in longevity, and the archers aren't in anyone's way yet.

Probably cost a lot more to remove them than to leave them where they are.

I just hope someone thinks to save one of them. I'm not sure how that could be done, but I'm sure the nearby Henry Ford Museum could figure it out. I doubt if we'll ever see something like these again.

Oh yes, this part of the country has various poured concrete structures that just stay in place until someone really needs the space. I'll try to post a few more photos of other objects.
