Horsehead/flame
Lens: William Optics ZS71 ED Camera: K3II Photo Location: Kamloops ISO: 6400 Shutter Speed: Above 6s Aperture: F5.8

My first attempt at the flame/horsehead complex last fall. Last image before my mount started giving me some serious problems. Tracked it down to backlash issues, but in my attempt to clean my gears, i failed to read one instruction and broke a peg for one of the transfer gears. oops. I can save it by upgrading the mount to a belt drive but that's $170 or so.

Once fixed, I should be able to get 3-4 minute subs unguided, if not more; I was able on occasion to get 4 minutes with the Adromeda galaxy previously.

Flame and Horsehead nebulas. this is 33x 20s Pixel Shift images (total time of 44minutes) ISO 6400 With 21 Bias frames. Stacked, stretched, NR, highlight recovery with one of the 33 frames, all done in Affinity Photo. Minor adjustments in LR. K3II with William Optics ZS 71ED APO telescope (418mm focal length, f5.9)

A fine image and worth all the efforts. When I read your description I thought, wow PS with 20 second tracked exposures... then I realised you have a tracking mount lol
