Dusk Fog Creeping Over Bar Harbor, Maine · **1 Like**

This scene resembles a forest fire and smoke, but it's just the lights of a small town as a fog expands from the harbor over town.

I hoped to do some astrophotography from Cadillac Mountain, but the wind shifted and started pushing fog over the mountaintop, hiding all the stars.

With all the fires in California, I had thought this some of them. I like the glow in the mist.

The fog was in some ways more enjoyable than having a cloudless night sky. Every cloudless sky is the same. Local weather oddities are interesting.

That fog also let me get to sleep early. Trying to photograph sunrise, sunset, and midnight gets exhausting when combined with hiking or biking during the day.
