I was hiking on a trail along rapids serenely and then I came across this.

That’s one I’ve never seen before. Guessing you didn’t see the elephant on your hike.

I would certainly be worried if I came across that sign around my way.

Luckily no. Wild elephant herds are quite common in this part of the world. Seeing a trail thru elephant territory is uncommon.

That was my inclination too. Certainly did not want to be between a thirsty herd and the water but I did carry on.

I did glimpse this guy a few kms away ambling towards the river with his mahout for her bath with a mouthful of munchies.
