Thank you all for your comments. I don't know how many other cars like this survived. I saw this car at a museum in northern Kentucky; Kentucky was a border state - a state of slave-holders which was occupied by Federal troops before it had time to join the Confederacy. I'm guessing that environment - people who mostly agreed with the "Jim Crow" culture but were within easy driving distance of those who didn't {and would have been amongst those running this museum}, contributed to preserving this car.
