Looks similar to the place in NY where I tripped over a root I didn't see, and one of my lenses rolled a loooonnngggg way down hill - I hope the squirrels found a good use for it. I hope you didn't have a similar mis-adventure.

Oh man @reh321 that is terrible. No, I survived two visits to these trails, once with lenses and this time with my GR, and no spills. I guess your case was either a serious serious hill or not a Limited It is good that the lens went over without you attached though.

I did not think of it at all at the time but looking at this photo now, I see that I was on quite a steep hill. If it was my 77 Ltd. I would have tried to climb down probably

Most unfortunate situation. Had you chosen to traverse down that hillside, chances are you would not have made it back up without a rescue teams' assistance. Pretty shot.

When I first saw this shot, before I scrolled down to see the post quoted above, I was thinking about my honeymoon in the Appalachian mountains. My brand-new wife tripped over EVERY root in the trail, or so it seemed. The trail was just wide enough for two people side-by-side. She had been on the downhill side, but I finally swapped with her so she wouldn't fall off the mountain during our first week of marriage. We both laughed about it at the time.
