Another Butterfly
Lens: DA 55-300 ED WR Camera: K-30
Posted By: reh321, 08-19-2018, 05:00 PM

My wife and I took a walk in a county park this afternoon She was looking for birds, but she saw this butterfly before I did. I wasn't thrilled with this angle, but it left before I could figure out a better one that kept me out of the river.

Nice capture, but yeah, maybe a different angle could be more interesting.

Neat. I think that the angle worked out just fine.

Thank you for your comments.

At this point I should admit that I did some minor "PP" of the out-of-camera JPEG. I cropped, adjusted levels {which had the effect of making the background a little darker and the foreground a lighter} and I sharpened it.

It's a nice shot. What's the purpose of having editing software if you don't use it? Leaf is a bit hot for my taste but everyone sees things differently. Photography is subjective.

I basically agree with you. This is my only photo of it, and the funky lighting at the time I took it limited my choices of what to do in this case .... of those, this appealed to me the most.
