Another of my possibly quirky favourites. taken on a cold February morning in Exeter. I liked the figure bottom right leaning against a junction box and how their cigarette smoke was reflected by the steam venting from various buildings down the road. This was taken from a first floor window with the unusual colouring and texture being supplied by the blue safety netting covering scaffolding that was covering the front of the building.

The cold hard streets
give way to no one while
the air fogs and writhes
with a frustrated hissing.

This has the look of history about it.

And for some reason made me think of the girl I didn't give in to when I was young.
I don't miss the cold streets very often.

Nice shot. Great composition, fun subject with the steam and smoke, near-monochrome and textured from the netting, just fun. Thanks.

Thank you. It works for me - I like stuff that is about atmosphere rather than straight representation
