Impressionist view of Trail, provided by smoke
Lens: Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 Camera: Pentax K5 Photo Location: Trail, BC, Canada ISO: 100 Shutter Speed: 1/125s Aperture: F9

This is a couple of shots from downtown Trail, BC taken on Sunday morning. The smoke from wildfires burning in BC and Washington was thick in the air and reduced visibility significantly. I thought the effect looked reminiscent of some of the impressionists painting of fog in London. What do you think?

Yes, they look like London before they cleaned the place up. How horrible!! Horrible for those dealing with the fires and horrible for those of you dealing with the smoke! Do take care of yourself.

Certainly very impressionistic. Nice shots. I bet the exposure metering was easy. But why are you sending this smoke down our way (Colorado)? We actually have unhealthy smoke levels. Thanks (for the images, not the smoke).

Well, we've been generating our own smoke too. Seems like it's a western thing.

Good shots that tell the story. I agree that the look like some impressionist paintings of fog scenes.

Great atmospheric imagery.

Wow, I had no idea as to the scale of the problem going on there...

Not conducive to good health for anything.

There's fires burning all up and down the west coast, from California to northern BC. The smoke here was better yesterday, but unhealthy again today. Seems it doesn't take much of a change of wind direction to send it all over the continent. But sorry for sending it Colorado way

There are a lot of fires burning all over the west coast, California to northern BC, the smoke levels have been terrible, but there is a chance of rain on the weekend, which would sure help a lot!
