I took these at the end of July but I'm just getting around to processing them. Between the trip to Maine and then the one to Virginia/DC right after I just haven't had a ton of time to really go through them.

These 3 are my favorite loon photos from the trip to Maine, all take from a Canoe which made it rather difficult to say the least.

These are excellent! It isn't easy to get the exposure right on a bird like this. You even have detail on their black heads. Impressive I say!

Yes, these are particulalry nice shots, and befitting of such a majestic bird. I hike Maine a lot, and when I do my heart is always touched to see and hear loons. This thread elicits profound memories for me--thanks!

Beautiful beautiful shots! I often find myself near these gorgeous birds while out flyfishing but I haven't got the courage to risk my Slr out on my pontoon boat...

Nice shots. Loons can be difficult, diving under the water and popping up who knows where. I have spent many hours paddling around trying to get decent shots of these beautiful birds.
