Harvest

I have wanted to take pictures of the stereotypical wheat harvest every year since I got my camera. Every year I seem to be out of the state when the harvest rushes through. I managed to capture this shot before he finished cutting the wheat. I believe this may have been the last farmer in the area cutting...I got back to town just in time.

Is that really stereotypical? I guess living in San Francisco we just don't see much of this sort of thing so to me it seems really different. The colors are soothing. It is a very peaceful shot. Nicely done!

I think this is the perfect moment, some wheat still in the field, some already harvested. I like the patterns.

I believe every photographer who lives in Kansas is required to have wheat harvest pictures

Very nice photo! I grew up in Montana in wheat country but didn't have a camera back then. There wasn't much for trees where I was, but there was a lot of sky.

Nice shot. I understand what you mean by never being there at just the right moment. I see agricultural opportunities all the time but it is usually "next week will be the right time" or "last week was when I should have got it".
