Back to personal favourites. The water was still enough for the boat not to be rocking, but a 30s exposure smothed it out completely. What I like here is that I was able to position the camera, by working my way down the beach to get the boat under the arch of cloud - which is then reflected in the sea. A subtler thing I like is the light from the flashing channel markers, and the buoys, providing a visual counterweight to the boat, and the few pinpricks of artificial light on the far shore.

Well, you've described it very well, all the little details that make it work so well. What do I have left to say?

Anyway, great shot. Thanks.

- without getting too over-serious, I like to give people some sort of idea of the process and objectives to compare with what they see - I know that in the end an image should stand or fall on its own merits, but in a place like this somebody (including me) might learn something by the comparison

It took a bit of moving along the shore to line it up, but nothing too arduous - sometimes it's just there for you - thanks for your comment
