Toads came out for the rain.
Lens: Magnicon 28-70mm, Ricoh 35mm Camera: K-5
Posted By: Ropuchy, 08-27-2018, 03:03 PM

Took some photos of some toads that had come out for the impending rain.

I used my Magnicon XC 28-70mm lens on F8 for the larger toad and my Ricoh 35mm at F8 for the smaller toads.
Both lenses had +6 diopter.

The larger toad wasn't quite in focus because my diopter adjustment on the viewfinder had gotten moved by accident.

Anyone else have some amphibious photos they'd like to share?

Huh! Come to think of it, I haven't seen any toads around the house this year. They always showed up. I miss them.

Yeah, some years they seem to be a lot less common.

Sometimes the weather isn't nice enough for them to want to come out.

And sometimes you just get unlucky and never come across any, even though they may be out and about.

But I always assocuiated their appearance with wet weather and it has been nothing but wet this year.

A Camoflaged Frog at the pond.

With KP and 55-300PLM. If he had not jumped and shifted the grass, I never would have seen him. SOOC and Cropped.

Nice pickerel frog!
They can be quite hard to see sometimes, especially in fall when the vegetation is high and their brown color blends into all the leaves.

Cute little toad!
It's fun finding the ones with the red/pink tinted pattern. I found a gigantic one once, it was the size of a drink coaster!

Got some more pictures!

2 frogs and a toad.
They might be a little harder to see, I didn't want to scare them off.
