Museum leftovers

Some leftovers from the Petersen museum. I've already posted historical Japanese cars, historic Porsches, custom motorcycles, and junior midget racers in separate threads.

1967 Toyota Sports 800 was the first Toyota sports car. Forty-one shipped to the US but did not sell well.

1958 Subaru 360 was the first Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industries) imported into the US.

1968 Honda S600 was Honda's first mass-marketed car, and sold in Europe.

1964 "Gypsy Rose" Impala. The original is seen in the opening credits of Chico and the Man, a 70's sit-com starring Freddie Prinze.

1963 Prince Skyline Sport. Italian-designed, Japanese manufacturer. Never officially imported into the US.

1976 Chevy Cosworth Vega. 3,508 manufactured, sold mostly in California.

2001 Honda S2000 from 2 Fast 2 Furious movie.

1932 Ford flathead from Iron Man I & II.

1973 AMC CJ5 Super Jeep. Only for 1973, and one of the few to come in factory Jetset Blue.

1965 Barris Zebra Ford Mustang driven by Nancy Sinatra in Marriage on the Rocks. Faux fur covering, TV and cocktail bar.

1984 Reproduction Duesenberg SJ from 2013's The Great Gatsby. In the book it was a 1922 Rolls Royce. The Doosy was cheaper and easier to maintain.

1969 Datsun 1600 Roadster designed to compete with MG and Triumph. In 1969 it was replaced by the 240Z.

1973 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-X. It was nicknamed the "Kenmeri" after the American characters Ken and Mary used in advertising. This one was not in great shape when bought used, so the owner did some mods.

1991 Toyota Cresta heavily modified ala Super Silhouette racers of the '80's, including an external oil cooler.

2014 Scion tC drifter. Among other mods, it was converted to rear-wheel drive.

1998 Honda Civic Dragster. Thirteen second 1/4 miles were considered the norm for FWD dragsters. This was the first to break 9 seconds, then 8 seconds. 650 HP.

1974 Mazda RX4 has a 3-rotor 400 HP engine.

1993 Toyota Supra Mk IV leaned toward racing with an inline six. One was seen in the Fast and the Furious movie.

2017 Ford GT. What can I say except I want one.

1967 Ford GT40 MkIII derived from the GT40 racer, but was more road-driver friendly. $18,500 when new ($129K now).

Disneyland Autopia cars came in a variety of models, had beefy bumpers, and an external foot-pedal throttle for attendants to park them.

I want it all... but will settle for the old Japanese ones. Thanks for these great pics.

(My 100th post of the month. Didn't intend to push on for an auto entry but let's try to get Adam to part with a K-1 ii)

Thank you! It's a great museum. I try to get there about once a year when a new exhibit rolls in.

Thanks for sharing those. I visited the museum April 2018 and don't recall seeing some of what you showed. Maybe I missed stuff, maybe they rotated exhibits, maybe I have a bad memory.
