This past {U.S.} Labor Day weekend, my wife and I spent Saturday, Sunday, and half of Monday at The Henry Ford museum and Greenfield Village living history museum. Saturday morning I spent some time watching the ducks at the pond located in the craft portion of the Village. Just as I was ready to take a set piece of several ducks lounging along the pond, I heard a commotion out on the pond. My camera was not set properly for this, but I quickly took a photo, the first photo below. Apparently two adolescent ducks had got into a squabble, and now both were setting up a plume of water as one chased the other across the pond. Only when I read this photo into my computer did I realize that a third duck, which appears in the background near the duck being chased, had been watching the whole thing. A few minutes later, one of the adolescent ducks came over to try to explain the whole thing to me, in the second photo below.
